Capt. Bret Crook & First Mate Jennifer Crook
Capt. Bret Crook is a U.S. Coast Guard–licensed captain and retired Police Chief from Waco, Texas, with extensive safety and emergency-response training. He brings decades of professional experience and a strong focus on guest safety to every charter.
Jennifer Crook is the First Mate and onboard assistant. She’s a retired Assistant Superintendent and former teacher who ensures the boat runs smoothly and guests have a comfortable, enjoyable experience.
After vacationing in Destin for more than 25 years, Bret and Jennifer made it their home in 2023.. They started Salty Crook Charters to offer something Destin was missing: a safe, professional, affordable luxury sport yacht experience for small groups.

Swim the Destin Jetties
Swim the jetties where the Gulf and bay meet—calm, clear water with rocks that attract colorful fish, crabs, and other marine life.
Bay Cruising and Sightseeing
Glide through the bay and Destin Marina for a relaxed cruise past waterfront homes, quiet coves, and pods of dolphins that often swim alongside local boats.
Exploring the Gulf
On calm days, head just off the beach into the open Gulf for that big‑water feel while still keeping the shoreline in view.
Artificial Reef Swimming
Swim an in‑water artificial reef like Dolphin Reef in Miramar Beach, where you might spot schools of reef fish and other marine life in 12–20 feet of clear water.
